Jimmy...Is there a person with FedEx with the formal designation of 'Historian' for the Company? Thanks! (You sure do a fantastic job of it here!!)

Jimmy Glenn Burk2/29/2016

I think the guys/girls that came before me(before 1980) are the true historians......we get a lot of good info from their memories

Debora Williams Waller3/1/2016

This might be a good question for the FedEx Retiree Club also.

Michael D. Mehl3/1/2016

Jimmy and Deboraโ€ฆA fellow FedEx Retiree had asked me this question, so I thought I would run it by this groupโ€ฆthanks!

Congratulations to Ken Pasley who has retired after 50 years in the Industry, with 15 of those years at FedEx. Ken previously worked at AT&T and IBM; Many of Ken's friends from IBM, AT&T and FedEx gave him a farewell party at the Butcher Shoppe. A few that I can remember: Rebecca Jones, Perk Perkins, Mike Cueria, Skip Hayes, Robert Ford,Tom & Laura Bullion, Belinda Watkins, Tom Tompkins, Rachel Harvey, Jim Thannum, Kevin Humphries, Lyle Ogle, Keith Burns, Phil Smith, Bobby Simmons, Chuck Siegfried, Winn & Judy Stephenson, and many others..........

Peggy Dawson Black3/1/2016

Ken Pasley - congrats and best wishes! You were really a great boss and nice to work for and I appreciate all you did for me. Retirement really is wonderful!

Irene Williams3/1/2016

I say this with all sincerity. Ken Pasley was one of the finest people I had come to know and respect at FedEx. I say further, Retirement "Good". Don't be popping up at another company for another tour of duty.

J. David White3/1/2016

Enjoyed seeing many of my former FedEx colleagues last night at Ken Pasley retirement party. Good luck Ken.

Don Rose3/1/2016

Chuck was easy to work with...as long as you agreed with him.

Doug Smith3/1/2016

Funny how when a VP was let go the news report always said "pursue other goals and ...will be retained as a consultant."

Chuck Siegfried3/1/2016

Chuck Winston. Funny story he married a friend of mines aunt about ten years ago.

Jimmy Glenn Burk3/1/2016

Forwarded from Bob Baxter:Re: Bill Ogden.I had a call from Bill's wife Candy to let us know that Bill passed away February 28 after five weeks illness. Some of you will remember that Bill was part of the "crew" who opened the FedEx COS Data Center on August 7, 1978.I also had the pleasure of working directly with Bill when we both ended up in Customer Automation in the late 80's. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.The address for Candy Ogden is:1685 Danbury Crossing Dr. Henderson NV 89052-6913

Dan Elliot3/6/2016

Sorry to hear!!! Bill was a good guy! Rest in Peace....

Don Rose3/6/2016

Peter Dangerfield3/6/2016

Kathy Jones Crockett3/6/2016

Bill was a wonderful man, I am so sorry to hear ! God be with his family!

Jim Gonka3/6/2016

I think it was Bill and Larry Netter that hired me at Fedex.

Cheryl Bowen3/6/2016

I started at the COS Data Center 2 weeks after Bill. He was a super guy.

Peter Carabetta3/6/2016

Hey Jimmy.. Have u ever worked with Harry Dalton. I think he helped open Colorado Springs. He was a station mgr in NJ I think when I 1ST met him. Is he still with FedEx ? Have a great wkend.. ๐Ÿ˜Š ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ˜Ž

Jimmy Glenn Burk3/6/2016

Worked with Harry who was quite the character and I think he transferred in the late 70's to or from COS to head SIS (Strategic Integrated Systems); he transferred to Hong Kong in the early 90's, then came back to Memphis to VP Tech Services after the death of Jim Colson. He retired in the early 2000's and last I heard he lived in Orange Beach or Gulf Shores Alabama. Did some interviews with Harry about his career that are on the fedexlegends website: http://www.fedexlegends.info/allvideos.html#dalton

Jimmy Glenn Burk3/7/2016

From Larry Netter: Yes, Bill and I lived together here in Memphis while commuting from our home states in 1983 and 1984. We were like mutt and Jeff with his towering height and my less than towering height. He was a wonderful man that would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need! He will be missed!!!

Bob Higgins3/7/2016

I knew Bill, starting in the mid 70s at American Airlines. I showed him the add for this new, unknown company called Federal Express, hiring in Colorado Springs. I told him I was going to send a resume. He called, and started a few weeks before I did. We had lunch with him last year and had a great time recalling friends we knew over the years.

Kenneth Stegall3/8/2016

I retired from FedEx IT in 2013 when the buyout was offered. I went to last month's retiree lunch and was told to visit this site for any assistance. I am looking to take my wife to Maui for our 20th anniversary in June 2017. I would like to stay in the Lahaina area if at all possible. We were married in Kapalua. I am looking to stay for a month. Any ideas you may have will be most welcome. Thank you sincerely, Ken Stegall

Larry Smithson3/8/2016

Bring lots of cash...oh wait, you retired!

Ron Houston3/8/2016

Ken - congrats. if you go to the main page of the site there is a search option - A few months ago Jimmy was looking for some similar suggestions. I just searched on 'Maui' and found the thread. That will give you some ideas and I'm sure if you have some specific questions and post them here they will get responses. I was there in June of last year and found the place to stay on VRBO (Vacation Rentals By Owner). Lots of great place to hike and eat and then of course, there's a BEACH! lol
